STARTITUP COMPETITION

EO Puerto Rico Celebrates Local Entrepreneurs at GSEA StartItUp Competition 

We are proud to announce that Osvaldo G. Ríos, founder of La Wagon, has won the local EO GSEA StartItUp competition and will represent Puerto Rico at the global quarterfinals in Rio de Janeiro in 2025. This initiative, led by our board members Pedro Nieves and Azalea García, exemplifies EO’s commitment to nurturing young talent and giving back to the Puerto Rican community.

The competition, held in collaboration with Grupo Guayacán, provided mentorship and training to five student entrepreneurs over the past six months. Additionally, Gloridie Lebrón López was recognized for her socially impactful project, Comfybum, which creates pet beds from recycled tires.

Thank you to everyone who supports our mission to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico!

Sales Mastery with Mark Hunter

During our Kick Off Event, Mark Hunter, a globally recognized sales expert with extensive experience working with Fortune 500 companies, presented an exclusive workshop to launch the fiscal year.  Mark, one of the “Top 30 Global Sales Gurus for 2024”, shared his insights on sales strategies and personal development.

He emphasized that “sales is not a job or a profession, it’s a lifestyle.”  Sales is all about connecting with people, building trust, and communicating effectively. He also stressed that “Your reputation arrives before you do”, noting that potential clients often research online before meeting, making a positive reputation crucial.

• Voice messages should be no longer than 14 seconds. Start with the key message and mention your name at the end.

• Send two thank-you notes daily by email, text, or phone. This helps shift the mindset and cultivate meaningful connections.

• Give three referrals a week to help others connect, which reinforces a positive mindset.

In the recent Learning Event, Jeanette Bronée, a global expert on resilience and well-being, introduced The Self-Care Mindset®, centered around her concept of Power Pausing™. This practical technique emphasizes taking mindful pauses to enhance both personal and professional performance.

Jeanette provided essential tools to regain emotional and mental clarity, improve resilience, and navigate challenges with purpose. Power Pausing™ encourages a conscious pause before taking action, creating mental space to act with clarity and intention.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Orlando Montañez for his acceptance into the prestigious EO Global Leadership Academy taking place this month in Washington DC!

Orlando’s participation in this elite program not only showcases his dedication but also brings valuable insights back to our EO Puerto Rico community.  This advanced, four-and-a-half-day immersive program is EO’s highest-rated leadership experience, designed to empower 28 rising leaders from around the world. Attendees are guided through transformative sessions aimed at strengthening leadership skills and expanding their impact on families, communities, businesses, and personal growth.

Congratulations Orlando, enjoy every moment! We’re all excited to see how this EO Journey will further shape your leadership. 

MyEO MAVERICKS

Road To Heaven, India

We’re thrilled to celebrate Eduardo Rubio and Orlando Montañez for taking their EO Journey to new heights—literally!

They joined MyEO Mavericks – Road to Heaven, an epic adventure that saw 16 EOers from 10 countries tackle some of the world’s most challenging and breathtaking terrain, including the Umling-La Pass, the highest motorable road at an astounding 19,025 feet.

This Manali-to-Leh expedition was a true test of resilience, camaraderie, and exploration, capturing the spirit of EO beyond our chapter. Eduardo and Orlando’s journey was not only about embracing a thrilling MyEO adventure but also about connecting with the global EO community, expanding their networks, and sharing a once-in-a-lifetime experience with EOers from around the world.

Congratulations, Eduardo and Orlando, on your inspiring EO Journey! Your bold participation reminds us all of the endless possibilities that await when we embrace MyEO and venture beyond our own chapter.
